Hogg family Co Cavan

My great grandfather was Thomas Hogg born 1834 at Fintavin Co Cavan, the son of William and Jane (nee Coote) I understand he emigrated to USA ? after selling land on Carn Mountain Ballyjamesduff. He returned to Ireland around 1876 as a widower, bought a farm at Tullylurkin Co Cavan and married his second wife Elizabeth Middleton. They had one daughter Martha my grandmother who married Adams Deane. I would like to know when Thomas emigrated and where he went to, also the name of his first wife and where she died.

Perhaps this is information you already have but the Hogg's attended Glasleck Presbyterian Church, Shercock. Martha Ann Wilson Hogg was baptised there on March 18th 1880. Her date of birth is recorded as 4th January 1880. She was baptised by the Rev. Thomas Martin. Regards, Les http://www.bailiepublications.com
