Henry William JONES - Victoria

My relative Henry William Jones born 1890 was on the 1911 census in Birmingham, England as a Turner in the MOTOR TRADE.  He left for Australia after that and he married a Margaret Mary Sullivan in Victoria in 1915 - believe they then both returned to England in 1916.  Looking for any record of his arrival in Australia and any info. on where he lived and what he was doing there.  Also any record of their departure to England.  All help will be gratefully received.  Regards Sue

Mr H W JONES 25 years and Mrs H W JONES 20 years departed Melbourne for London via Ports, on the OMRAH in Dec 1915.

Mrs Henry JONES 25 years, Engineer and Mrs Henry JONES 20 years, Housewife, disembarked Plymouth on the OMRAH which arrived London on 12 Feb 1916.

Hello - thanks for help and advice.  I have tried to order a marriage certificate using the link and registration number (also tried just to search the index) and it keeps telling me no results are found.  Any suggestions??  Sue

Sometimes less is best when searching, one digit wrong and you find nothing

Just use Jones and Sullivan years 1910 -1920 and registration 1011

then order which you can do with plastic. It will take you through the steps of a pre-authorisation scroll down to continue on the page and follow the prompts.

I just tried to buy using this link

and it worked perfectly well, getting to the payment page.  Obviously, as I didn't want to buy it I didn't pay 

You only need the surname (doesn't matter which one you use), reg number, year and choose "marriage".  It's $21 now.

Pleased to hear you got the certificate.  It would be interesting to read a transcription. If you include the witnesses and addresses etc we may be able to find a little more about HWJ while he was in Victoria.
