Moses Hayball - death
« on: Monday 20 October 14 23:44 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for a Moses Hayball who someone on Anc. have as dying in Utah on 10 Dec 1876. He was born in Somerset in 1797 & Married a Sarah Coombs. I'm not sure that the person they have would have gone to America but if anyone could find out for me I would be very grateful. I cant find a death record for him in this country.
Thanks

hi there.....

I just googled "Utah deaths 1876 Hayball", and some really detailed materials come up on the surname in Utah..... however in the first attempt I didnt see a Moses......
one of those biographies looked at was > http://genealogytrails.com/utah/cache/bios/bios_h.html
which was very well done...u probably already seen that....

but this site link mentions a Moses>

http://www.baberfamilytree.org/worldwide/charles1723.htm

so maybe the latter is worthy of contacting......

best I can offer....
 :)

FIND A GRAVE

Moses Hayball - 1792 - 1876  ???

Burial: Logan City Cemetery Logan Cache County Utah
Plot: A_ 10_ 10_ 4

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=91739055&ref=acom

IGI has multiple "submitted" records for a Moses Hayball son of James Hayball and Sarah Cook and the birth/baptism dates vary within the years 1797 to 1801. Two Utah marriage records for a Moses Hayball both give his birth date as 6 aug 1801 and this birth year fits better that 1797 with recorded ages on census and death records.

It's still a bit of a mystery as to the 2 marriages and one divorce in Utah in the 3 years preceding his death. Maybe there was polygamay involved considering the connections of the broader Hayball family with the Mormon church in Utah at this time.

He worked as a Gardener in 1841 and resided at "Prospect Cottage", St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands, England. 9

He worked as a Nurseryman in 1861 and resided at Hampreston, Hampshire. 10 (widowed and on his own)

He immigrated from England in 1863 to US.

He filed for divorce on 12 Jun 1865 in Utah.

Can't find an immigration around 1863 as suggested in the Beresford research (mentioned in reply 5)

This is the marriage of Moses Hayball to Harriet Andrews - Salt Lake City 15 Nov 1863
