Beeton/Curtis
« on: Sunday 23 March 14 09:51 GMT (UK) »
Folks,
Samuel Joseph Beeton married Elizabeth Curtis, both parties aged 24,on 2 Oct 1871 in Farcett;from England & Wales Marriages 1538-1940 her father is shown as Henry.I have the Beeton line covered but i  find two Elizabeths, one baptised 1846,Farcett,daughter of Henry and Ann Rimes, however she is still unmarried when her father dies in 1890.Second has birth registered 1846 in St Ives registration district for whom i can find no baptism so makes it difficult to trace her.Neither appear on census that i can be sure of,Elizabeth Beeton (Curtis) died in 1878.
What am i not seeing?Suggestions welcomed.

I don't follow you. You say that Henry died in 1890 when his daughter was still single. How do you know she was still single? In any event this is contradicted by the 1871 census in Farcet which shows
Ann Curtis head widow 55 b Farcet
Elizabeth Curtis 23 single ag lab b Farcet
Martha Curtis dau 19 b Farcet
Pamilia Curtis Granddau 4 b Farcet
Martha Rimes head widow 79 butchers widow b Stilton Hunts

Ann was a 43 year old widow in 1861, and in 1851 Henry was alive.  A Henry Curtis age 41 was buried in Farcet in 1851.

I think your problem occurs through the mistaken impression that Henry didn't die until 1890. Or to put it another way, I think you have the wrong death - there's a death of an 84 year old in the March quarter 1891 in St Ives reg district, which includes Warboys, who may have been the same Henry age 74 living in Warboys in 1881 with an unmarried 43 year old daughter Elizabeth b Warboys.
