George Archer
« on: Wednesday 04 June 14 12:25 BST (UK) »
My Great Grandfather George Archer was born in 1861 in Hornchurch. I understand that he enlisted in the Essex Rifle Volunteers, but have been unable to find anything else out about his military service, other than when he was recalled during WW1 for a brief period.

Any suggestion or help would be appreciated.

No he was discharged as unfit for action in 1916, following an accident whilst on picket duty at Aldeburgh, Suffolk.
