Help - historian in Moate Westmeath required
« on: Wednesday 13 December 06 08:59 GMT (UK) »
Can you help? ;D
Is there a local historian in Moate Westmeath who can do a little detective work for me?

I’m trying to trace two relatives who were married in Moate in County Westmeath in 1863.

If Moate has a local Parochial House or Library the information should be relatively easy to find.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Why not put up the names of the couple who married and someone may recognise the families and give the information you require.

Dear Mr Bailey,

May I ask where did you get the specific data on this couple from?

This is very specific information which should make your research a bit easier. You would have to write to one of parish churches in Ireland yourself to get further information.

Or contact one of the family centres there.

Good luck,

Tees

Hi

Information was obtained from birth certificate copy so limited info as obtained from London.

Any further ideas appreciated.

Image removed.  Because of copyright, only a small portion of birth/marriage/death certificates may be posted for clarification purposes and not an entire certificate.

Hi
Owen Kelly & Rose Horan married on 7th January 1863, in either Tubber church or Rosemount church, both are in same parish and both churches are about 3 miles outside of Moate in different directions.
The parish church in Moate is in the centre of Moate town, and is usually named as Moate or Kilcleagh parish.
Neither parents names are included on the entry, just fathers' names as Kelly and Horan.
Witnesses were Anne Cuddy and John McDonald.
