Mary Molloy
« on: Sunday 12 May 13 13:52 BST (UK) »
Hi
I am looking for a Mary Molly who was born in westmeath in about 1832. The only information that i have on her is that she was a House maid and she was transported on the Earl Grey about 1850 for picking pocket. Mary married Thomas Brown in 1852 at Battery point  Hobart

   Thank you Sandy

You usually require a more detailed location such as the name of the parish and/or townland so you can check if relevant parish records are available. Many rural RC parish records only start around the mid 1830s, and some even later.

My Ancestor came from Ireland - where do I start?

Do you have any other details for your Mary - e.g. parents names from her marriage or death cert ?
Remember to check the Resource boards :  Ireland, Dublin, Antrim & Cork (and stickies at the top of other county sub-forums)

Hi
Reading the book Banished  which i purchased frown the oxford family history society it has the folllowing information that Thomas Brown married a Mary Molloy in 1852 and the following children

 Mary Ann 1852,Jane 1854, Thomas 1856, William1859, Elizabeth1861-1863, Elizabeth1864, Cathrine1866,Henryalbert1871,

The book also has Mary Brown dies 17Th October 1917 at Sandfly.

I have just looked at the front cover which as a photograph of Thomas Brown and his wife on their Diamond wedding, but it has her name down as Ann nee Molloy of Kings county ireland so not sure which way to go with this now

Thank you for your help  Sandy
