More information please!?

Thomas Williams was born c.1809 in Aberystwyth. I have found him and his family in 1841 and 1851 censuses. He is listed as a Shoemaker on his son's marriage certificate in 1868.

I'd love to learn more about his Shoemaker business. Does anyone have any sources of information where I can find out about this? Maybe newspaper adverts?

It seems as if he moved to Mwldan Cardigan after 1851, but I haven't found any online searchable indexes or trade directories after 1850 for Cardigan.

Didn't find any info in any newspapers either I'm afraid.

The directory just lists people in various occupations etc. It gives some background info and stats about various towns and cities and although it sometimes lists an address, the earlier ones only usually state the place where those listed carried out that occupation.

It seems as if your Thomas and daughter Catherine were living at Mwldan Isaf Cardigan in the 1861 census (I think it was).

Something smells funny though. Your 1861 census hit looks really good but my 1851 census hit looks good two. However, there are two very different birthplaces for Catherine Williams. One of us could be wrong... What do you think?
