I see that my arrow wasn't all that far out and it does seem to be close to the housing estate.

Yes, it's quite close, but it would be a pity for someone to think it has been razed and built over when it hasn't ;)

However, we were trying to identify Wester Reeves   :)

The Royal Mail postcode finder (see Tom's post, above) pin points Wester Reeves fairly accurately.

Goldie, go to http://www.royalmail.com/postcode-finder/  and enter Wester Reeves in Building names and Whitburn in Town. The resulting map shows the location.

The postcode finder points to exactly where Reeves is on the map. So it would appear that they are at the same location.

The Mid-Victorian six-inch map names it as plain Reeves. It's not uncommon for places to change their names over time.

Goldie,  check this from the West Lothian FHS,  http://www.wlfhs.org.uk/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=15   enter Meek & Wood in the searchbox. Also, Wood the baker.
Are your Wood's related to this Whitburn family of bakers, one of whom was the provost? If so we're probably related somewhere?

Skoosh.
