My 2nd-great-grandmother was Mary DELEHANTY (per marriage record) and was born 17 Mar 1831 in Kings Co, Ireland (per death record) although multiple censuses would indicate b.1828-29 more likely.
Mary emigrated to the US no later than 1856, but may have come earlier.
Her brother John DELEHUNT b.1827-30 emigrated July 1849 and is listed in Mary's obituary.
Both Mary and John were Catholic, and both married their spouses after emigration to the US.
Other than Mary's death certificate connecting her to Kings (now Offaly) County I have no other family information for her, or John, that would connect her to family in Ireland and would very much like to find relatives of hers (and maybe of mine!)
Versions of spelling used by Mary or John in records have included DELEHANTY, DELAHUNT, DELAHUNTY, DELAHANT
