Williams, Gelli Hir, Llandefalle.

Hi,
John Williams of Gelli Hir Llandevalley left a will in 1799 which is on-line at the Library of Wales. It  includes a reference to his children Mary Pugh and son John Williams. Mary was married to David Pugh lived at Skreen Farm, Llandeilo Graban. David Pugh had six children, he had two daughters, one was called Isabella Pugh.

John Williams wife was also called Isabella, and it seems that the Williams and Pugh families may have been on good terms and in touch with each other.

Isabella Pugh married a William Williams about 1792. However I can't find any record of where William Williams came from or where he got married. I do know that he left Wales to go to Ohio about 1793, and that he returned to Tre Rickett, Crickardarn about 1804. William and Isabella had several more children and they all left for Ohio about 1720. He was usually called "Deacon Williams" In Ohio.

Does anyone have an information on William Williams who may have been the grandson of John Williams of Gelli Hir?

Thanks!

Llanfi
