Seen this - an 1846 Will for John McGaveston of Rathgar, surgeon, late of the East India Company ?

http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/Details?uri=D105352

I downloaded it but cant read it! Its clear enough but the 170 year old cursive writing isnt helpful.

The Nicholas McGaveston that married Henrietta Bournes is 1831 is a brother of John Snr.
He died aged 80 on 19th March 1883. Last address - 5 Brighton Road, Rathgar.
According to his death notice he was " brother of the late John M'Gaveston, surgeon Bangal Cavalry, East India Company"
He was buried at Mount Jerome Cemetery on 22nd March 1883.
If you contact the cemetery with that date they should be able to tell you who else he may be buried with. Also a very good chance that John Snr could be there as well.
BTW you can see the Ancestry trees for free on Mundia.com (bit late for you now !! but might help in the future)  :)

Ah well, Ancestry does have a ton of info..just trying to wade through whats been researched and is more accurate than what is not. Id better add Mundia to my favourites to use.
