Griffith's Valuation: handwritten version?
« on: Friday 01 August 14 20:01 BST (UK) »
I have a question about Griffith’s Valuation. In GV for my ancestral farm, the tenant has the surname that I am looking for but he has a given name that has never appeared before or since then in our family. Since GV is type-set, I am thinking that there was an error in transferring the handwritten information to the type-set. Is there a handwritten version of GV available that I could check?

Donegal County Council may hold the originals, looking at link below, they do have the revision books which will show change in ownership post the original survey so name should appear there.

Also try the Valuation Office in Dublin.  They hold all the original Griffiths valuation books as far as I know.
