Hiraeth, thank you so much for that. I had thought that Amelia's mother may have been a Catherine. Amelia was visiting the Jones family in Corwen on the 1851 census and also visiting was a Catherine Jones and given the age gap, I wondered if Catherine was her mother. You have just confirmed this, so thank you! :D

Hello boleyna, I couldn't see anyother children of John & Jane Pierce baptised in Gwyddelwern 1813 to 1830 :(

I had a look in Corwen baptisms and as well as hiraeth's find of Amelia, Eliza and Harriett.
I came across.
Born 4 Baptised 14 June 1812 Amelia d/o Richard & Catherine Jones. Corwen. Fathers occ, Woodsman.
Burial July 29 1813. Amelia d/o Richard Jones. Age 1 year. abode, Corwen.

Two other baptism for children of Richard & Catherine Jones. Corwen. Woodsman.
Born 12 Baptised 26 June 1811 Simon.
Baptised March 13 1814. Godfrey Goodman.

Names carry on to the Pierce's :)
I wonder where the Goodman comes from? :-\

Paul.

No Goodmans showing in Corwen baptisms 1741-1812 and nothing in Gwyddelwern.  May be worth looking at:

I don't see any marriages of a Richard Jones to a Catherine around this time  in Corwen,  Glyndyfrdwy or Gwyddelwern.  :(

My mum and I took a trip to Corwen and Gwyddelwern for a look around not so long ago and whilst in Corwen we looked round the church yard and my mum noticed a vault with the name Goodman mentioned on it. We wondered if that family were distantly related to the Pierce family as we knew my granddad x2 was a Simon Goodman. I jotted down the names and dates of the people in the vault, but other than the Goodman, they meant nothing to me.  I didn't for a second, when looking at that vault seriously think they could have been more than distant cousins of my family at best.

I've just checked the notes I made. The vault was for a Richard Jones, woodranger (it actually says this on the vault), who died  1846 aged 77, his wife Catherine who died in 1853 and some of their children - Godfrey Goodman Jones, Harriet etc

Thanks to your help, I realize I was looking at the graves of my great, great, great, great grandparents.

I am stunned and just can't express  how grateful I am for all your help.
