Humbie Cemetery
« on: Saturday 12 October 13 09:15 BST (UK) »
My 2xggrandmother, Jane Skirving (ms Graham), died 14 Mar 1905 and is buried in Humbie Cemetery.  I am trying to ascertain whether there is a headstone or not and, if so, obtain the inscription.
Would anyone happen to know of, or have, a publication of monumental inscriptions for this cemetery.
Would appreciate any assistance.
Thanks,  Bill.

Hello Bill,

I don't have any information about graves in Humbie - according to Genuki, Scottish Genealogy Society has a list of 68 graves - however, there is a headstone for a William Skirving died 1866 and his wife Christina Oswald in Ormiston Old Churchyard. Other Skirving names on stone. Let me know if this is of interest and I'll type up details.

If you are searching this area, the site below may be well worth a look - Bolton, Saltoun and Pencaitland MIs online.

Thanks Mags
I've checked out that William Skirving but unfortunately cannot link him to my tree.
Thank you for the link; I'll have a good look at that as  most of my Skirvings come from Haddington, which is not far away.
Cheers,  Bill.
