Marriage in Cashel RC church, Co Fermanagh
« on: Wednesday 16 October 13 09:52 BST (UK) »
Hello.

Can anyone help with this marriage search?

I am trying to trace the marriage of Patrick MAGUIRE and Catherine JONES
The marriage took place at Cashel RC church, Fermanagh.
The church is located between the villages of Garrison and Belcoo.

Patrick’s parent’s names are Philip and Anne (nee McManus)
Catherine’s parent’s names are Louis and Catherine (nee Macgovern / McGovern)

The bride Catherine was born in 1900 and Patrick died in 1937. The first child of the marriage was born 1925, so I believe that the marriage could possibly have taken place any time between say 1916 and 1925.

I have tried both names on Family search and Irish Roots .ie but no joy.
However I know for certain that the marriage took place at the above location,

Any help or pointers would as usual be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The civil registration index (on Family Search) only does up to 1921 for Northern Ireland counties so the marriage may have taken place after that date. Not sure what sort of coverage Irish Roots has but you should be able to check dates for marriage records on their site.

Have you tried contacting the church?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi,
I can find a marriage of a Patrick Maguire and a Kate Jones in 1924. However the marriage took place in Belleek Roman Catholic Church.

Thanks for such speedy replies.

That would explain the "no" hits. I was getting no hits on Irish Roots at all.
Might have to contact the church direct now.

Kingskerswell.
oh wow, now this is something to ponder. Bellek is not far away from them at all, and Catherine was also know as Kate!! Kingskerswell, to narrow it done, does your source give any details of their address or parents etc. Parents occupation will be farmers.
Thanks in advance
