I know this because I have researched the Mills family and come across numerous sources, which document CERTAIN members of the Mills family being non-conformist since at least the civil war period. One source that I can remember is the Montgomeryshire Collections and another is Murray Chapman's goal file transcriptions.

I do have information on Mills families, but nothing pertaining to the ones you have mentioned.

Poser this one best bet is that he is descended from Roger and Mary Mills and Edward was either born c1751 age at death or 1755 age at time of marriage and had the following siblings  all baptised Garthbeibio
Roger 28.11.1756 who later married Jane Thomas Llanerfyl 1780
Lowry 16.7.1759
Elizabeth 3.12.1761
Thomas 16.6.1764 married Sarah Thomas 1790 buried Llangadfan 1805 aged 41 miller
Martha 1.4.1769
 Edward buried Llanerfyl 5.5.1825/6 74 miller Goetre fach and Anne 4.6.1841 aged 81
