Archibald Thomas Reid (my great great grandfather) married Charlotte (Annie) on Jan 15 1827. Chalmers.  The Chalmers were a well-known family with an excellent pedigree and as others have said can be found living at 14 Marshall Pl, Perthshire, through successive census.  They had a huge family (about 15 children in total) and are connected to Culloden through ancestors.  try http://trees.ancestry.com.au/tree/44288311/person/6989637200 for a fuller picture.  This is the Reid family tree.  I would love a copy of the painting if you have it still.  Best wishes.   Jay Reid.
