Perrin from Boddicott
« on: Tuesday 08 April 14 23:12 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have any information on the Perrin family from Boddicott/Bodicote. John was born 1791, his son William was born 1814 and George born 1833. The available census returns don't seem to provide an identifiable address in Bodicote. Can anyone advise on a possible grave site for residents of Bodicote from about that time. I'm planning a detour to visit there in a few days time so any info gratefully received.

In 1841 the family are in the civil parish of Adderbury - Bloxham although the general address for all on that page of the 1841 is Boddicott

Also - living next door are a Thomas & Hannah Perrin.

Are you sure George is their son as there is a very big age gap

All b Oxfordshire except Ann

John Perrin   50
Ann  50
William  27
George 8

next household
Thomas 23
Hannah 20

Possible burial may have been St John the Baptist Bodicote

Thanks for your prompt response. I saw an 1861 Census extract for William Perrin which listed him in Boddicott - there was no address as such but the description of the Census area described it as to the east of the area from Boddicott to Bloxham Grove - which just seems to cover most of Boddicott. We'll have a walk around St. John the Baptist churchyard and see what turns up - many thanks again.

This is just to complete the enquiry for anyone else looking for Perrins. In the local churchyard there are two badly worn gravestones - one for John Perrin and his wife Ann ( the ones who were the focus of my search) and one for Thomas and George Perrin. They lived in the main street  between the open land and the Horse and Jockey pub. I have photos for anyone else who is searching.
