Bit more info please as I can't see any match to the profile you give on the 1861 census.

Who did he marry - when and where?  Do you have him on any census?

If he married in Scotland - his parents names and mothers maiden name will be on his marriage cert.  Same if he died in Scotland

There is an 1871 for an Alexander Ewen aged 20 b Kincardine O'Neil which is Aberdeen - farm servant so not with family

I know in 1891 he was married to Jessie ewen maiden name Anderson from logie coldstone

Have you viewed the 1891 entry you mention?  Please post full details as I cannot find any match to the info you have given.

The only Alexander & Jessie Ewan/Ewen on the 1881 census do not match your profile.
