1911 immigration Ireland to NY on the Luisitania
« on: Tuesday 22 July 14 08:53 BST (UK) »
Good morning,

According to info on the Ellis Island site, my gg grandfather and siblings sailed on the Luisitania to NY in 1911. The family lived in Ireland.

Do any ship buffs know what the route was, if that ship stopped in Ireland?

Thank you!

Gray (Sligo)
Eustace (Louth)
Frost (Suffolk)

Hi,

From her maiden trip in 1907 until the end of 1912, the Lusitania has made 77 voyages, calling on each occasion at Queenstown. On 59 occasions, she worked outside the harbour, and on 18 occasions entered the inner harbour.

Thank you both!

I found the family (Keane) on the 11/3/1911 Liverpool list.

Please excuse my absolute ignorance... Can I assume they left then from Liverpool? How easy was it to get from Dublin (?) to Liverpool in 1911?

I presume that when you say "11/3/1911" you actually mean 3rd November 1911?
Which we write in the UK (& Europe!) as 3/11/1911! ;D

Lusitania, departing 29th October 1911 from Queenstown, bound for New York.

Thank you KGarrad. As the website (from the US) lists the date as 11/3/1911 that is what I put... I should have been clearer though.

My Keane's are: Michael, Patrick, Owen and Mary (Ellen)... 4 siblings.

Sorry! I'm not seeing any of those names on UK Outward Passenger Lists? :-\
