emigration from Limerick
« on: Sunday 29 December 13 06:04 GMT (UK) »
Looking for records of Sarah Jane BATEMAN b1856/1857 in Glenosheen Limerick. Sarah came to Hobart Australia  about 1874 aged 18.  Some years later she moved to Victoria where she married.
Any help on tracing her movements from Ireland to Tasmania would be appreciated.

Thanks for this information I do have a record of her arriving in Victoria in 1874. No record of a trip back to Ireland but that is not to say it didn't happen. Just wondering are there passengers of the name Piper? It is understood she came to Aust with at least two other girls one of whom may have been a Piper.
