Convict record George Walker from Northampton (Hobart in 1849)
« on: Tuesday 25 November 14 10:30 GMT (UK) »
Hi Would any one be able to decipher this record for me? This is an entry into the Convict Muster of Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) in 1849). I think that it says, "hired by S Smallboro.."??
Thank you

:)  Thanks so much. There was a Mr Smallborn (without the e) living in Hobart.
Great work!

Samuel Smallborn, his name was, and he lived at 10 Francis St, and he died on 4 September 1862 at the age of 66.  Actually in his 66th year which should mean he was 65 and something. And he was keen on pinking.
