Thomas Williams 1829-1879

Thomas Williams b 1839 Soughton.
After several years of searching I think I have now traced the demise of my Great Grandfather Thomas Williams from the Index of Wills.

“WII.I.IAMS Thomas
Personal Estate £357 2s
1882.
2 March.    The Will of Thomas Williams late of Bryn
Bennett in the Township of Broughton in the Parish of
Brymbo in the County of Denbigh, Collier who died 2 April
1879 at Bryn Bennett was proved at St. Asaph by John
Harrop of Moss in Broughton, Secretary to the Westminster
Brymbo Coal and Coke Company Limited one of the
Executers.”

John Harrop was Thos. Williams’s brother in law following the marriage of Thomas to Elizabeth Harrop in 1855
The 1871 Census shows Thos and Elizabeth residing at the Mount Pleasant Inn Broughton and the 1881 Census shows Elizabeth as a widow at 163 Moss Hall, Broughton.

Can anyone help me fill in the gaps - where is/was Bryn Bennett - where would Thomas have been buried, I can find no record of a Thos Williams burial at that time?

I have applied for a Death Certificate which might help but in the meantime would appreciate any help/hints.

A quick search on Welsh Newspapers suggests Bryn Bennett was a ward in the Broughton District Council - it also appears as an address as Bryn Bennett, Moss. ALl the entries seem to be realted to your search -a couple for the marriage of Richard Harrop Williams to Elizabeth Hatch in 1881 (at St Mary's church, Brymbo) and one for the election of John Arthur Harrop to Broughton Council
