I am looking for any information on the Ancona family from london.
I have a Ameila Ancona b 1879 Stepney area married to a William Bailey b 1870 london
I believe they had serveral children including Amelia, Ethel, Daisy. William bailey believed to have been left at the steps of a chuch at birth! Ameila's parents believed to be Henry or Harry Ancona and Elizabeth ???
Henry or harry was a Vat maker in london. Got them in 1881 i think RG11 466 86 53 but not sure who the Attridge family are.
Want to try to trace back a bit further can you help at all.

With the info Tazzie has posted from William and Amelia's marriage, this looks a possible entry for William with family in 1871, with Charles father down as a vellum binder - RG10; Piece: 514; Folio: 52; Page: 3
Susan Bailey who shows as a sister may be who signed as a witness at the marriage of William and Amelia.

Has Henry managed to age an extra 10 years then? I'm sure he was 34 (so born 1847) in 1881.
Think I need more coffee before I do my maths ;)

No, I think I'm the one who needs the coffee!
Sorry, all - Henry was 44 in 1891 (so b abt 1847) and Elizabeth 36 (so b abt 1855).

;D
I was having a quick re-read over this thread, and it suddenly struck me that the ages of the marriage I had given didn't match up, so I thought I had sent Titanium down the wrong path.
Mind you, I still can't find Elizabeth or the Albridge/Attridge/Aldridge lot on any other census ::)

No i was having trouble locating the Attridge part, it states they are brothers and sisters and i thought of Elizabeth's but i dont think that can be right! bit of a mystery ;D
-
THink I have the Attridge family in 1871 at RG10/547/12/17 living at 9 Balls Building, Stepney.
Perhaps the brother sister bit was their relationship to each other rather than to the Anconas?

1826.01 Ancona or Miller Joseph Jan 22 Ruth Ancona and William Miller Ilford butcher D/P 81/1/14 image 76
1827.02 Ancona Mary Ann Feb 18 Joseph and Mary Great Ilford labourer D/P 81/1/14 image 93
I came across these Ancona baptisms in the online digital images of the Barking, St Margaret's parish registers. If you google SEAX it will take you to the home page of the Essex Record Office and if you follow the ABC links to Barking St Margaret's and the reference D/P 81/1/14 images 76 and 93 you will be able to see for yourself
Aldridge is a fairly common name in Barking registers but I have not noticed a link to Ancona name
