I'm very new to the family tree research and I need some help finding out about the Ryalls living in Warminster at the time of the 1871 census.
Could someone look this information up please? It would be much appreciated :)
Secondly, how do I find out how many parish records are yet to be put online/CD? I use the online sites such as FamilySearch and the IGI Batch numbers for Wiltshire (linked to FamilySearch) but I can't find the marriage between:
Thomas Randall and Rebeckah (parents of Thomas Randall b. 1794).
What percentage of all such parish records (up until 1837) have been put online/CD?

Trying to answer the last part of your query - heavens, it is difficult to say just what percentage of parish records are available online or on CD. The flippant answer is - not enough!! ::) We are always looking for extra information.
The important thing to remember about indexes like the IGI (FamilySearch site) and CDs is that they are all secondary sources. Ideally you should check the originals if at all possible at the record office or using the microfilms availabe through LDS Family History Centres. Lots of family history societies have produced indexes and transcripts of various material (baptisms, marriages, burials and memorial inscriptions) either in book form, on microfiche or more recently on CD. You may also find online transcriptions of some registers - try a google search - it's amazing what you might come up with. Also have a look at this site if you haven't done so before:

Have a good wander around all its pages - lots of links and information to help get you started.
Back to the marriage of Thomas Randall and Rebecca - I have looked at the BVRI2 (another index which complements the IGI and has fairly good coverage of Wiltshire) but their marriage is not included. This does not mean that they married outside Wiltshire - only that wherever it was is not included in the index.
As far as the 1871 census is concerned, someone will look that up for you, but can you give a bit more information, like names or ages of the people you are looking for. It would help whoever is searching.
If you have any more questions, just post them on here and some kind soul will try to help you out. ;D

Thanks Little Nell - I've managed to get the 1851 census info. and it's Edward Ryall and family. In particular Caroline Ryall - I need to know whether she was resident in Warminster in 1871. the vital link being that she was present at the registering of Thomas Randall Jr.'s death in 1874 - and Caroline's mother, Ann, was born Ann Randall (I think she's the daughter of Thomas and Rebeckah).
I'm trying to link Thomas Randall Jr. to Thomas Sr and Rebeckah. The 1871 census should tell me if she's the only Caroline Ryall in Warminster.
If she is then I can link Thomas Jr. To Thomas and Rebeckah.

Edward 16 Apprentice Warminster, Wilts.
Henry 10 Warminster, Wilts.
Anne 11 Scholar Warminster, Wilts.
Benjamin 8 Scholar Warminster, Wilts.
Mary 4 Warminster, Wilts
Ann died by 1871 - but surely the daughter didn't marry a John Ryall?

I've found this from 1851:

Caroline 28 Don Warminster, Wilts.
Sarah 6 Scholar Warminster, Wilts
Looks like Caroline Ryall, daughter of Edward and Ann must have left/married.

Let's just say Edward's wife was dead by 1871!
Caroline Ryall, daughter of Edward Ryall, married Uriah Brimson, son of Richard, 3 Mar 1863 in Warminster. She was 32, he was 26. (Source BVRI2 FHL film 1279373)
A John Ryall, son of Edward Ryall, married Caroline Trap in Warminster 25 Oct 1841. Both were aged 19 (same source). I wonder if she is the Caroline Ryall you mentioned?

It all seems to fit. It looks as if the Caroline Ryall in question is Thomas Randall Jr.s' nephew's wife (niece-in-law?)

Hi all,
Caroline Brimson ne Ryall was buried 17 April 1886 at Southside Cemetery,Saratoga Springs, NY, USA.
Her husband Uriah Brimson was a marine. He was buried 27 August 1877. They were married at St Deny's Church, Warminster.
They had 2 daughters Amelia b1863 & Annie Louise b 1865.
Annie Louse was also buried in the same cemetery in 1936.

Hi All,
If you go to www.findagrave.com then look under non famous & search under the surname Brimson. You will be able to find Caroline Brimson ne Ryall's grave in New York State, USA. She was born in Warminster. Uriah Brimson her husband was a marine in the British Navy in the late 1800's. He is also buried there & there daughter too. Ryall is on the grave.
