Hi Lisa.
It seems that there were two Churches in Makerstoun.
One of my ancestors was the Minister for the free Church of Scotland,David Dobbie he was ordained in 1848 and remained until his death in 1895
Not sure What denomination the other Church followed.
Regards Arthur Dobbie

I know this is belated but perhaps someone will find it useful.

There is a web-site which has indexes of Scottish Presbyterian Ministers of various denominations and also of some of their congregations. Here is a link for Makerstoun Free Church: http://ecclegen.com/congregations-2/#_Hlk377368628

And here is one which provides a link to information on the Church of Scotland there: http://ecclegen.com/searching-by-congregations/#M.

There was the Old Parish Church, The parish Church and Makerstoun Free Church. There are ministers listed in G.A.C. BINNIE book "The churches and Graveyards of Berwickshire" but I cant help[ if you dont mention your ancestors name? Let me know
