Can anyone perform a lookup on either a burial or MI database for John Bell in Kelloe, died between 1861 and 1865, a farmer who resided at Crow Trees. He was born in 1781 and would therefore have been aged between 80 and 84.
Many thanks
Gordon

Many thanks for the reply - we are related! John's youngest brother, George, born 1797, is my 3x great grandfather. I've still not been able to find where John was buried. He seems to have been of means so should have been able to afford a headstone.
I have details of the father of John Bell (born 1754) who was also John Bell; he married a Mary Orpeth on 6 October 1748 in Rothbury. I cannot find either a baptism or burial for John senior and there are 3 possible Mary Orpeths so I've not been able to get back further. I believe Mary was buried on 16 November 1793.

Thank you for the response Sarah. I have sent you a PM with my personal email address. I agree it would be good to compare notes.
I use findmypast.co.uk and have a tree there where I can add you as a viewer. I agree with you that we need to be very cautious on the research of others we don't know as, from my past experience, most of it is either wrong or speculative at best!
