Title: Glasgow Tram Drivers
Post by: lanarkshire lassie on Thursday 19 July 07 18:59 BST (UK)
I am looking for some help with locating my grandfather and/ or his family.
He worked as a tram driver in Glasgow around 1928/29. My grandfather's name is JOHN HAMILTON. Unfortunately my grandparents never married. I have been told that John's father was a master baker. I believe that the family lived in the Scotland Street area of Glasgow.
I have posted these details on various sites, but so far have had no luck.
If anyone can make any suggestions as to where I will find any help in locating my grandfather, then I will be most grateful. my mum is now 78, and would love to know what became of her father.
Regards

Gail

Hello Gail,

Have you contacted the Mitchell Library? The Glasgow City Archives are held there. One of the members of the Library staff  might be able to tell you where you should look for the Glasgow Corporation Transport records. http://tinyurl.com/3tscss
