Title: Handsworth Parish Registers
Post by: Tricia_2 on Wednesday 17 March 04 01:46 GMT (UK)
Handsworth used to be in Staffordshire, but is now part of Birmingham, so I thought I'd enter this info here as well.

The site 'Digital Handsworth' has images of original pages from the parish registers of St Mary's church.
To view, go to:
http://www.digitalhandsworth.org.uk/
Enter the word 'register' in the search box.
Good luck!

The site: http://www.revolutionaryplayers.org.uk/home.stm
is also worth a look.

Hello Tricia_2

I don't think this is still current as I've been transferred to Birmingham Images which is part of Birmingham Libraries database. I also think it's a paid-for site too.

I have tried to search for Handsworth Parish Register images but nothing was found for my dates.

Has anyone else found this a problem too?

Judy

It's quite possible that there have been changes over the years. :)

I had a quick look and it has indeed changed.
Not really surprising as it seems to have been linked to the old library which has also gone.
