Hi! Any help with tracking Sarah Elizabeth Dowling - born Wisbech approx 1870 (husband's gt. gran). - she married Thomas William Arthur in 1893 at Kings Lyn.
We have details of them already but I am keen to expand the tree - the rest of the family are concentrating on the "Arthur" side.
Also, if possible, Thomas William's mum - Elizabeth HARROD. Again from Wisbeach. She married John Arthur in 1856.

My father Vincent Dowling is the sole surviving child of WilliamDowling. I have copies of birth certificates & marriage certificates of James Dowling and Elizabeth ( Sarah Elizabeth's parents).

Tony, I was bowled over to receive your reply!
Strangely (and who believes in coincidences?) I had only just been going over the family history stuff yesterday evening after a break of a couple of months!
I had e-mailed my husband's cousin, David Arthur, in Australia to say I was picking up the threads again. David has done most of the work in tracing the Arthur clan; I'm a bit of a late-comer!
If you can let me have an e-mail address I can send you John Arthur & Elizabeth Harrods Marriage certificate. They were Thomas William Arthur's parents.
My main computer crashed a couple of weeks ago and I have photos of Thomas William on the hard-drive.
Sarah Dowling was his first wife and the mother of my husband's grand-father, Thomas Sydney Arthur. Thomas William (Sarah's husband) emigrated to Australia and re-married. He had a further family out there -2 sons - Nelson and Beresford, I think. The wife of one of them is still alive and has given David heaps of information about the Arthur connections but we knew very little about Sarah's family.
I have asked David if I can pass on his e-mail address to you. I'm sure he'll be fine with that. In the meantime, I'll get on to the old computer and drag the stuff off the hard drive.

Hi my name is Beverley Dowling and do have some info from ancestry plus doing DNA.
I will try to compile some of it as the family is HUGE.
To the son of Vince in western australia...i have been trying to contact you. Harry (your dads brother) was my favourite 'uncle' and i spent lots of time with him in chch. I think you may have visited my parents there sometime...and when harry died Midge came to stay with Vince for a while.
I have also connected with Barbara in Orlando...another relative.
Back to Elizabeth ..ive just closed computer for the night so will check tomorrow.
