Hello. I came across this thread whilst seaching my own McAuliffe roots from Newmarket, and we think from Glenmucklagh too. I have found the township on old maps which is quite interesting. My GGG grandfather John McAuliffe (b1812) met Norah Fitgerald from Newmarket, I think John was also from Glenmucklagh. Their two sons were Edward (1831-1906) and my GG grandfather David (1838-1925), both baptised in Castleisland. David emigrated to America but his son, my grandfather stayed in Ireland then joined Edward in London.
I would love to hear from any McAuliffe's, I am writing a book about McAuliffe stories of life in Ireland, emigration and today's families.
