Im a direct descendant of Cory's living in the US. Wondering if anyone in here is aware of any of his relatives still living in England, as our side of the family lost contact with them sometime in the early 20th century.

Hi

Welcome to RootsChat

Sadly the lady who started the thread back in 2008 is now deceased.  If you would like to give details of your Cory ancestor, names, birth dates, immigration etc then we may be able to help.

You may not find any relatives other than your own family.  Daisy posted the census details earlier:

The children's ages recorded in 1841 are not quite correct.  As far as I can see the children were:

1831  William Henry
1833  Henry Thomas
1834  Louisa
1836  Ada Elizabeth
1839  Albert Israel
1842  Harriet Betsy

Ada Elizabeth and Albert Israel died as infants, Ada in 1840 aged 3 years and one month, and Albert in 1842 also aged 3 years and one month.

Louisa and Harriet never married and can be followed through the census.  Harriet died in 1912 and Louisa died in 1929.  Harriet did not leave a will but the administration of her estate went to Louisa.

Louisa did leave a will and it would be worth getting a copy to establish beneficiaries.  There was a short obit in the Sussex Agricultural Express (Lewes, East Sussex, England) on 28 June 1929.  She was aged 94, had lived at Uckfield for 16 years, her only relative was her nephew William Hill CORY of South Carolina, and she was buried in the family grave at Norwood.

I do not know what happened to Henry.

Wills and administrations can be searched and copies purchased here:
