Title: Michael Preston & Mary Flannigan Completed thank you all very much

Don't have any actual information other than an extract from the 1881 census,  which lists them as living at 68 park street with their family. 
Michael Preston Labourer born Ireland
Mary Flannigan - wife born Ireland
Theresa aged 10, Michael aged 8, Peter aged 5, Patrick aged 4, John aged 5months.  I reckon my Grandfather Joseph was born about 1884 although I'm not sure. 

Cannot find any info on Mary Flanningan other than above.

Were Michaels parents John Preston and Catherine Hart?

This looks to be the family in 1891 with Joseph showing as born c 1883. Children showing as born in Motherwell:

Michael and Mary look to have married in Scotland ( 09 JAN 1871 Bothwell). The marriage cert. available to view on line at Scotlands People www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, will include both their parents' names including mothers' maiden names.

Mary's parents were Peter Flannigan and Ann McAdams


Mary died 29 Jul 1906 at 128 Craigneuk Street, Motherwell

  I hope you don't mind , I have Flanigan (Flannigan ) and McAdams in my family .

I have a Margaret Flanigan b. Tassan , Co. Monaghan  who married a Henry McAdams  circa 1871  in Monaghan .

They made their home in Castleblayney , Co. Monaghan .

Margaret Flanigan is daughter of Francis Flanigan and Margaret Daley of Tassan , Co. Monaghan .

Margaret Flanigan McAdams had a nephew , Francis Flanigan who moved to Craigneuk , Scotland in 1903 and live there with his family for over 30 yrs.

Hi,
My uncle has just become interested in in family history and as the family genealogist, I've been helping him. His ancestor is Peter Preston (son of Michael Preston and Mary Flannigan). Peter came to the US in 1904, where he was a bridge builder in Troy, New York. His wife, was Ann Quinn who came the following year with their children. My uncle is the son of their youngest, Theresa Preston Siek, who was born in Troy in 1908.

Peter died around 1915. Ann, his wife died in 1951 at the age of 73. If anyone is interested in connection with Peter's descendants, please get in touch.
