Title: Marshall Williment born 1882, London COMPLETED
Post by: Christine in Portugal on Thursday 25 September 08 22:23 BST (UK)
Could someone please look at the passenger lists for Marshall Williment please?

There are a few entries come up but I am unable to view them.

In 1901 he was a crew member  on a vessel in Falmouth harbour.

The request is for a contact I have been trying to help.

Thank you.

Christine

SS Raranga, arriving Seattle, Washington from Vancouver 23 Oct. 1928
Williment, Marshall, seaman's identification card # 520523, length of service at sea - 28 years, position in ship's company - storekeeper, shipped or engaged - 16 Sep. 1928 in London, age 45, male, race - England, nationality - British, 5 ft. 3 inches tall, 107 pounds

SS Ile de France from Greenock to New York, 6 Mar. 1944
Williment, Marshall, not member of crew last preceeding voyage of vessel to US, length of service at sea - 39 years, position in ship's company - greaser, shipped or engaged - 27 Jan. 1944 in Greenock, age 59, race - England, nationality - British, 5 ft. 3 inches tall, 140 pounds

He was on the SS Ile de France for these trips too:
3 Apr 1944 - Greenock, Scotland to New York
18 May 1944 - Greenock, Scotland to New York
7 Sep 1944 - Avonmouth, England to New York
26 Nov 1944 - Halifax, Nova Scotia to New York
30 Jan 1945 - Greenock, Scotland to New York
26 Apr 1945 - Greenock, Scotland to New York
22 May 1945 - Greenock, Scotland to New York

The information is basically the same as the previous passenger list for the Ile de France, except some of the ones from 1944 indicate that he had a scar on his abdomen.

He is listed on the passenger list for the Ile de France for 25 Feb. 1945 - Greenock to New York, but he was crossed out and it has handwriting that says "(something) never departed."
