I have been researching my family history and stumbled upon over 100 letters received by my grandfather from a nurse from chatham hospital. He served in the navy and tragically died in 1942. His wife had died in childbirth in 1939 and I presume this was his new better half. She was a nurse at the naval hospital in chatham and I would presume she would be approx 95 if she was alive (a long shot i know). If anyone could give me any information about the nurse in question I would be grateful. Her name is/was Margaret Talty and I beleive she originated from County Claire in Ireland.
If she happened to still be alive I would happily return these letters too her .

The hospital in Magpie Hall Road was All Saints which was the maternity Hospital for the Medway Towns for many years. It was shut early 2003 and the land was sold for houses. All maternity was transfered to Medway Maritime where I expect the records of staffing were transferred.
100 years ago All saints hospital was the Workhouse for Chatham.
