Hi
I am researching Mary Ann Telford age 27, who migrated to SA on the Taymouth Castle in 1854 ( with her husband John Nugent also 27, both are listed as English though our family believes she was Irish from Kildare.
I noticed there was a Jane Telford age 17 also from England, on the same ship. They may have been sisters. Even though she would have been separated with the single women a sister would be likely travelling on the same ship.
On SABDM there are a few Telfords.
You can find this on the Ships List.
Mary Ann was my gt gt grandmother and I have found cousins in the US, but I am having trouble working out the exact connection. The mention a George Telford.
If you have done your DNA we might be able to work it out.
Maria

Hi Mariaf
I hope you are still out there.
I know very little about Jane Telford, or were she came from, I know she arrived in South Australia,
on the Taymouth Castle aged 17 years, in 1854, then she married Henry Smith in 1858, I do believe her to be a younger sister to Mary Ann Nugent. But other than my belief I have no proof.
