Title: Link: How to calculate distance between two places in Australia
Post by: nudge67 on Tuesday 07 April 09 12:19 BST (UK)
Geoscience Australia has a resource that gives the co-ordinates to three decimal points of any two locations in its database, and then calculates the distance between them. Interesting to know how far apart family members are, and also assists in using Google Earth to find the location of particular sites. There are 310,000 locations in the database.

Here is an example: both these homesteads have been in the family.

Great Circle Distance between DOONBA and MOERLONG

Distance is approximately 1218 km
