 The Congested District Board [CDB]  (http://www.donegallibrary.ie/memory/boards.htm) was established by the British Government in 1891 to encourgae economic and social development in the 'congested' districts of the West, North West and South West of Ireland. The article mentions a Mr Wrench, who was a member of the board, having a meeting with Alexander Morton who owned a textile business in Darvel, Ayrshire at a horse show in Belfast in 1897. As a result of their meeting, the following year, Alexander opened a carpet factory, employing four hundred workers, in Killybegs.

The guide entitled "Researching Donegal Ancestors has been extensively revised with updated links.  You are still using the old link though I am not sure why as it is updated at both Lindel's website and Bob Hiflyte's.  This is the current link:
