Lived IOW..She married John Carr who was from australia [born Wentworth NSW]  but was in England during the war when he met her...I have no further information on any siblings she may have had...I can trace the family back further but would love to hear from anyone who might be directly related....

Hullo fernang and welcome to rootschat :D

Do you know where in Aus. the Carrs settled? When might they have arrived here?

Re Ivy's siblings... you could check the 1901 & 1911 census to see what children are listed as  in her parents house that night.

Roland was born in the Ryde area of the Isle of Wight in 1876.  He had older siblings:

Albert Frederick 1856
Alice Elizabeth 1857
Ada Ann 1859
Walter William 1861
Charles John 1864
Amy Lotty 1869
Bessie 1872
George Vivian 1874

Parents appear to be Frederick Sothcott and Elizabeth Butler who married in 1853.

Roland Sothcott married Alice Martin in 1898 on the Isle of Wight.

Doris Mabel was born 1902
Rita Olive 1905
Norman Frederick 1908
Vera Kathleen 1910
Two more sons and another daughter, 1914, 1918 and 1921.

Hullo again, if John Carr was in Aus forces during the war you should be able to lookup his army file online free at the National Archives[Aus] .
That could give you info about who he says is his next of kin, addresses etc... worth havinga look to see if there is help here.

Hello.
My grandmother was Doris Mabel Sothcott, so Roland was my Great Grandfather as well! My grandmother grew up in Brading IOW and moved to Sandown IOW when she married. I can help with this family branch if you would like.
