Title: CWGC Photos
Post by: J.A.M. on Friday 23 October 09 22:28 BST (UK)
I have just discovered the following site through the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. The people running this site are attempting to digitally photograph every Commonwealth war dead headstone. The cost is a mere 5 pounds.

I can thouroughly recommend the TWGPP, a great bunch of people putting in a lot of time and effort to provide pictures of ldeceased oved ones from all over the world and they are now including graves of army and navy personnel who died before the two great wars going back into the Victorian era.  Worth a look.  They are also given credence by being affilitated with the CWGC.  The GBP5.00 is a small price to pay for what you get in return.

A big thank you for recommending the TWGPP. Rootschat is fantastic at times like this......
We have an ancestor who died WW1 Salonica, Greece....strangely we have only just discovered this fact after returning from a holiday in Thassos Greece....we were so disappointed to have been so close and not known of his resting place.
This is how we discovered him...

For photographs in Scotland of CWGC stones, Family gravestones (i.e. for service personnel buried overseas but are listed on a Family Gravestone in Scotland) and also War Memorials, see:
