Hi
Is it cencus info you want ?
Joe
-
Yes Joe
My mother was intouch with her relatives 50 years ago, but stopped due to the death of my father.
The last address we had was:
409 2nd st North
Humboldt
IOWA
She was writing to:
Dorothy Johnson, who was married to Kenneth L Johnson and they has a son called Robert.
Her father who was probably at the same address was:
Robert Hetherington who died on 26th March 1959.
There may be a link to Hannah Hetherington who married Joe Lsist and who's daughter lived in RowAN IOWA - She was called Gladys.
Pleased if you could help.

Hi DMN
Robert Hetherington is age 45, living in Iowa, Humboldt, Dakota City on the 1920 census.
Robert was born in England, to USA 1880
Wife, Minnie, 37, born Iowa
Dau, Francis, 5, born Iowa
Son, Robert L, 2 years 2 months, born Iowa
In the same household
August Nopens(Spelling?), Father in Law, age 74, born Germany, to USA in 1852, naturalized 1860
By 1930, Robert is still in the same area, but widowed.
Living at home is his daughter, Francis, age 16. It now says he came to USA in 1884, and is naturalized.
Is this what you were needing?

Hi
There are a couple of Robert Hetheringtons showing at http://freebmd.rootsweb.com as born c1875:
Auckland, June Qtr 1874 Vol 10a Page 303
Morpeth, June Qtr 1875 Vol 10b Page 361
(My search was for births in County Durham between 1874 and 1876 so I'm not sure why the Morpeth one came up as this is in Northumberland! ???)
Auckland is the best bet - this is Bishop Auckland, not TOO far from Middleton in Teesdale.
cheers

HOWEVER ... :)
There is a birth registered for Robert ETHERINGTON as follows:
Teesdale, Sept Qtr 1875, Vol 10 Page 314
This might be a good bet, if its clear they came from (rather than just departed from) Middleton in Teesdale.
What is your source for the 'left from' information, David?
Both Etherington and Hetherington are very common names in this area of Durham - in fact I have a Robert Etherington as a direct ancestor in my tree!
best wishes
Paul
