Wow folks!
that was quick, I was searching too, and you beat me to it.
The Info I have is from a grandson who may be connected to my clynick family from Devon and Cornwall.
He has confirmed today that his grandmother was Mary Matilda from Wiltshire, so the marriage looks correct.
I can't find a birth for him either, but lets hope the marriage certificate names his father.
Many thanks all.

Vicki

doesnt look like his birth was registered in the relevant Plympton St Mary District - altho' as he is 3 in 1841, if he was a tad older, he would have missed CR starting in July 1837?
-
If he was born at the end of June 1837, he would still only be 3 on 7th June, 1841 And would therefore have missed the start of registration in July. But, as already pointed out, lots of people didn't bother about it in the early years. Maybe better to look for a baptism?

you could get in touch with the online parish clerk for tamerton foliot

Thank you all so much.
This has all been a great help.

I do not have information regarding Evan Clynick (Clinnick) as such but I do know quite a bit about his mother. She was listed as Gwen in 1881 and 1871 but as Jane in all preceding census returns. She was baptised (Gwen) at St Andrew's Plymouth in 1803.
If anyone with a connection would like more info about Jane/Gwen's origins, I'd be happy to supply it.
Regards, Irene
