Hi Del
If you get in touch with the Archives Dept @ Bolton Library they would probably be able to help you.
They are usually very helpful.

Thank you Garstonite.
Not even sure if he comes from Rivington (near Bolton) although I think his wife does. The records don't give much info at all. I have been in touch with Bolton Library and hope they come up with something.

Hello Del,
I have been looking at the Lancashire Online Parish Clerk Project & the marriage is recorded on there.
However,I don't know if it is an error Richard is recorded under the name of Jacobson not Jackson.
The marriage took place at the Parish Church of Rivington on 24th Jan 1748/9.
The parish records of 1706-1754 page 6 entry 5.
Rivington is a district of Bolton & is part of the West Pennines.Lord Leverhulme had a large estate there & it is a well known area of Lancashire, with Rivington Pike at the top of Winter Hill. The Pike is a very well known landmark.

Hi Betty
Yes, I have the marriage and it appears it is an error in transcription, it is Jackson. I did look for Jacobson as well to find a father, just in case.
I live about 8 mile from Rivington, I can see Rivington Pike from my house.
It looks like I am stuck on this one :(
There is a John in the records but I cannot connect them.

Hi Del
I think you and I are related because you posted asking for info on Richard Latham born 1657?
he is my 5or 6x great grandfather.
I also have been looking to get any father back than this and have all the same info as you but don't seem to get any further back.
I have a vast amount of info and would like it very much if you could contact me
Regards
