Is anyone a family descendant of Mary Ann Wilding?

I am confused here.

First page of chat from Multiman was Mary Ann Wilding(in brackets Thomas-where does that name fit in?)
Let me get this right-Mary Ann Lawerence married James Hok Seon first.
She had three children after the death of James.
Did she ever marry Leslie Edward Wildings father-John I believe? (this is the line I am helping a friend trace)

Was John Glynn another partner? Found his death in 1898 in Fitzroy but where do I find that info about him dying wealthy?

I would have to say given the evidence of the birth registrations as given by Raylen

Quote
Leslie Edward WHILDING and Leslie Edward LAWRENCE
details the same for both
b1891 Carlton
Father: Unknown  Mother: Mary Ann Lawrence
Reg#10422R

that there is really no way to know who Leslie Edward Lawrence/Whilding father really was

Leslie Edward Wilding's parents names were on the death cert or his marriage lines-can't remember which one I found out.
His parents names are John Wilding and Mary Ann Lawerence

He may never have known he was illegitimate, he may have een told his father died?

Or he never told his wife when they were married, the information on a death certificate is only as good as the informants knowledge of the deceased

this is more confusing.
More children

1Florence Matilda Hok Seon born 1876 No 16251
2. Mary Alice Hok Seon-the person in question
3. Arthur Hok Seon death Collingwood age 2 Father Joseph (Hok Seon) mother Mary Ann Whilding year 1881 Victoria 882
4.Minnie Elizabeth Hok Seon Birth Collingwood Year 1871 No 22383. Married Ernest Robert Ellard Victoria 1891 No 2138
Death Mary Ann Hock Seon -father Thomas Wilding and mother Charlotte Melbourne age 80 year 1933

Think Mary Ann took on a number of surnames-do you think.. as have her down as Wilding,Lawerence and Hok Seon now.Maybe Leslie Edward Lawerence Dad's surname was Lawerence? I thought my family was confusing.......

Jenn[/b]

Multiman obviously has their wires crossed here  ::)

It was James GLYNN that had assets to the amount of £2070.2/6  ;D

His WILL is on PROV to read & it was all left to his wife Margaret Glynn.

James death details are:

GLYNN Jas age 48yrs d. 1898 FAIRFIELD #2111
Father: Glynn Edw
Mother: Bridt MURRAY

So, I haven't a clue where Multiman got the idea that it was John Glynn's assets  ::)

Ta will cross that out-lol. still is this another partner of Mary Ann Wilding.

So in theory the Wilding tree goes by Mary Ann Wilding -correct.

Looks like Mary Ann Wilding was a busy woman........

Thanks to all for the input. Yes Mary Anne nee Wilding had a mystery man after her husband HokSeon died.
Mary Ann is known as Hok Seon, her first husband James Hok Seon died 1878.
She is also known as Wilding Whilding and Lawrence.
Mary Ann had three children to ...???. Mary Alice 1886, Leslie Edward Laurence 1891  Ellen Hong 1895.
Ellen is buried with her mother, also in the Private Grave is John Glynn or james Glynn ?
John Glynn is interesting he was a wealthy man when he died leaving assets of Two thousand and seventy pounds two shillings and sixpence he died in 1898.  Ellen was the first to be buried and you have to wonder why she was buried in a private Roman Catholic grave when Mary Ann has never indicated that she was a Roman Catholic.
Apparently James Glynn left his money to his wife so how did he end up buried in the grave with Ellen Hong (1yr) and later Mary Anne (80yr) ? There's an interesting story here!

Multiman you need to go back & read the information I have posted regards John GLYNN & James GLYNN they are TWO different people [/color]  ::)

James GLYNN was the one with the assets of £2070.2/-6 and left all his estate to his wife Margaret, I don't know where you got your information from  ???

James GLYNN is buried with his wife Margaret & other members of his family at Boroondara General Cemetery NOT with your Ellen & Mary Ann.
Title: Re: Mary Ann WILDING
Post by: tropicalj on Thursday 09 September 10 21:47 BST (UK)
Merlin is most correct here there was John Glynn who died aged 60 and is in the same grave  and  there was James Glynn who died aged 48 and is buried with his wife Margaret.

GLYNN Jas age 48yrs d. 1898 FAIRFIELD #2111
Father: Glynn Edw
Mother: Bridt MURRAY

GLYNN Jno age 60yrs d. 1898 FITZ S #2200
Father: Unknown
Mother: Unknown UNKNOWN

Which cemetery are they buried in because I couldn't locate them in the Melbourne General Search???

Re Thomas WILDING
Looking at the indent it IS very difficult to read the  names and his occupation.  However I believe his mother's name is written as Allen not Alice.  One of the siblings looks as though it might be Rodge, and another Edward as well as James, John and Mary Ellen who are written in better handwriting!!  His occupation is very difficult to read but appears to be xxxxxx xxxxxsmith.

http://search.archives.tas.gov.au/ImageViewer/image_viewer.htm?CON14-1-16,245,170,L,80
(Thomas is on p 150 of the Indent records for The Marquis of Hastings)

Based on these names I think this could be the family in 1841.

Mount St, Preston
Thos Wilding 50 warehouseman
Ellen Wilding 50
Thomas Wilding 19 Smith Ap
Roger Wilding 18 Currier Ap
Edward Wilding 16 Joiner Ap
Mary Wilding 15 dressm
Richard Wilding 12
Joshua Wilding 11
