Chrissy,

I would be interested to know where your Parrott/Parratt research leads you to.

I am currently reseaching the same name in the Middlewich and Sandbach areas of Cheshire.  I have often thought that the families in and around Crewe and Nantwich are probably linked to mine.

Nick.

I also have a connection to Sandbach PARROTT family by marriage in 1862.

John PARROTT m Emma PALPHREYMAN at Sandbach St Mary.

Looking at this has just made me realise that in the 1871 census they were farming at Acton Scott where the BBC Series "Victorian Farm" was made - how interesting.

Jean,

I guess we are probably very, very, distant, slight relations.  My ancestor, Elizabeth Parrott married Thomas Taylor (my surname) at Sandbach in 1796.

Incidentally, did you know that there is a 'Blackshaw Heys' farm in Mobberley?  I was brought up around there.

Nick.

Hi Nick,

When I looked back I realised we had been in touch before - and we are very distantly related through a different line - I've sent you a PM so that we don't hijack chrissy's thread.

Hi  Nick
To be honest I have only really just started researching Parratt family.
Only as far back as 1841.

                                 Thomas & Margaret Parratt. Nantwich.

There does seem to be an awful lot of parratt/parrott/ ect to be sifting through it will keep me busy for years.
My Great - grandmother  Her maiden name was Parratt, and so started my interest in Parratt family history.
I do not have access to local libraries, so all i have to rely on and research on is the internet.

                              Kind Regards
                              Chrissy

Hello gainer,

Have you looked at the Cheshire Parish Register Project Database for your research? They have quite a number of churches on this now and it is accessible online.

http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~cprdb

The Nantwich registers are on this as is the baptism of William Parratt/Parrott in 1836.

Hello Chrissy,

Congratulations on fathoming it all out!  :D

It is not the most user friendly online database I have come across. I cannot understand why they couldn't use a similar format to Freereg.  ???

Hi Chrissy,

Just came across this thread.

I am also a descendent of Thomas Parratt of Nantwich.  Thomas and Margaret's daughter, Ann, born 1845 is my G G grandmother.  Thomas was a printer and bookbinder.  Ages ago whilst searching the internet, I did find a printed advertisement for his business, but I can't remember where.  ???

Hi Ann

William Parratt Son of Thomas and Margaret was my g g g grandfather.
I have seen the advertisment for Thomas Parratt Printer Bookbinder in the Cheshire Directories,
The address for the business was Hospital street Nantwich, year 1864.
