Title: John Smith death Newton 1940 to 1950
Post by: seasider on Friday 27 August 10 21:56 BST (UK)
This is a difficult one as I expected there to be so many, but was surprised to see none that matched.
It's the death of John Smith born 1903 and died between 1940 and 1950 [ so we believe]. The area he lived in was Newton Le Willows, his wifes' death was registered in Newton, but I know if he died in hospital it could have been Warrington, but no matches in Warrington either.

Can anyone help please.

Thanks
Pat

Is his birthyear verified or taken from the 1911 census

Thanks Carole

I worked out John Smith's birth year from his marriage certificate, he was 22 in 1925.

His father was Henry Smith a sawyer, the address on the marriage certificate was 1 Broad Lane Burtonwood.

John Smith's address at the time of his wife's death in 1940 was 209 Acorn Street, Newton le Willows.

this might help

http://crem.oltps.sthelens.gov.uk/ (http://crem.oltps.sthelens.gov.uk/)

and if you're looking for a headstone, I'd recommend contacting the people below, as the cemetery is poorly labelled/laid out - it's not like a conventional cemetery listing for some reason!!!

friendsofsthelenscemetery@gmail.com

they have a website too

best wishes
