Im looking for some Family that moved from belfast to Airdrie about 1904 my GGGrandfather Denis Mckeown  Born 1855 Died 20th May1922 and I think Buried in Airdrie he moved to Scotland with his Three sons after his wife died they are
                                                          Hugh born 4-12-1881 ?
                                                         Denis born 2o-12-1887 went to USA and maybe came back
                                                         Francis born 11-2-1894 died in USA 1982
Any help would be greatly appreciated  thanks for  now    spot54

Was he RC? He may be buried in St Joseph's RC cemetery

lanarkshire lassie thankyou for your welcome and taken the time to answer my query I have now found Denis hes buried at   st Josephs Airdrie he lived at 44 Kippen street

 sancti  yes thats him but the age is wrong as he would have been 67 in 1922 but its the same man I wonder did he have any family living with him when he died or even if he Married again hopefully I will find his other sons Hugh and Denis in the Airdrie area     sancti Thankyou so much for your help Robert

There are 2 members on GenesReunited with a Denis McKeown born Belfast around 1856

sancti I have not got his death certificate yet but im sure one of his sons did as Denis jnr lived in Airdrie at the time he went to the usa in 1923 and his brother Francis went in 1924 and died there in 1982 but I cant find Denis and think he might have come back home but as I said I cant find him or his Brother Hugh there other brother John was my Grandfather and stayed in Belfast     Robert

  Hugh born 4-12-1881  Denis born 20-12-1887  there mother was Jane o Neill born Belfast married Denis mcKeown 18-9-1880 Belfast

I don't think your Denis would appear on an incoming passenger list as he's a british national traveling from a british port to another british port

There is a Denis McKeown listed but it's not likely to be yours given the dates

Did Denis have a middle name?

sancti   Hello again   I dont think he had a middle name In the 1911 census in Ireland hes just down as denis dont know that much about him only he left Ireland for scotland with his Father and brothers then he was in the Royal Engineers ww1 then went to the usa in1923 his brother Francis also went to the usa and died there in 1982 his other Brother Hugh seems to have stayed in Scotland and Married a Woman called Ann Paterson there father died in 1922 and is buried in st Josephs Airdrie there Mother died in 1904 and is buried in milltown here in belfast   Thats all I know about them   Thank you for your help    spot54                     forgot to say in the 1911 census he must have been visiting his brother John  my grandfather     denis lived at 44 kippen st Airdrie

Another resident of Thippen Street Airdrie on board with him is George McAloon whose destination was given as Philadelphia

sancti    thats right and the friend Denis was going to was a man called Moses Christie who was also from Airdrie and went a couple of years before

Got a picture of the headstone and also went to Kippen Street but it is almost totally redeveloped with 60s/70s housing.

 sancti      No Ididnt know of them but I will try now and get the dates       I have not heard of any Philip mckeown He could be but have not come accross anything for him

His son Francis was my grandfather who died in NJ. His son Denis also died in NJ.
