Hi there,
Sorry looking with my eyes shut again !!
Lucy was born in 1882 at Daddlebrook in Alveley.
I have a website all about Alveley if you would like to take a look - www.alveleyhistory.co.uk
Did they move from Alveley later ?
Do you have a date of death for Lucy ? - I don't seem to be able to find her on the Alveley burial register.
best Wishes,

Hello,
Thank you for the info on the site.
lucy Evans came from Alveley as you said, her mother was Joyce Hannah Evans before marriage, Joyce's father was Thomas Evans all from Alveley i beleive.
Having looked at the site i have found Lucy working as a servant at Hadleys farm in 1871
There are two Thomas Evans and i am wondering which is her father.
There are no Evans in 1895 and one in 1831.

Yes, the Clews and Evans families were in Alveley for many years.
Lucy Clews had a brother named Thomas ( later known as Tommy) who by co-incidence was next door neighbour to my great-grandmother at Quatt Bank on the outskirts of Alveley!
My grandmother often spoke of them and loved to tell the tale about Tommy one day "let slip" he and his wife were not married and as you can imagine it caused quite a stir ! (I'm not sure how accurate the story is of course)
Lucy and her husband seem to leave Alveley any idea where they go ?

Hello,
Many thanks for the info.
Joyce Evans Married John Clews in 1875 in Kings Norton.
In 1881 they were living with Thomas Evans in Alveley, in 1901 they were living in Smethwick and Lucy Clews was a servant in Rotten park Edgbaston Birmingham.
Charles Bishop who Lucy married was working at Perry House in Romsley in 1901.
Lucy had a child (Ellen) before she married Charles in 1905, they had 5 other children Brenda, Freda, Elizabeth, Tom and Bill.
Elizabeth(My husbands G mother was born in Romsley)never married but had two children, Jean and Wendy.
Elizabeth was living in Enville when she had Jean(my husbands mother) her husband still lives in Enville.
I know there are still family living in Claverley and i think some in Smethwick and Bridgenorth.
Can you tell me if Thomas Evans was married to Sarah Peat (I think they were Joyces parents)
If you have any more information i would be very grateful.
