Title: 1841 -George/Jane PASHBEE
Post by: Brentor boy on Wednesday 11 May 11 23:42 BST (UK)
In a will dated 1848, in which she is named as executrix, Jane Pashbee is described as "wife of George Pashbee of Devonport, mariner". In 1851 she is widowed.

I can find no record of their marriage post 1837, so assume they were married by 1841. When she remarried in 1852, Jane did so in the name of Pashbee, which suggests her earlier union was legitimised. From the wording of the will and subsequent census entries I believe Jane to have been born as Jane Cowling, in Lamerton/Brentor, Devon, 1808-10.

I need help to trace her/them in 1841. The unusual name means it may have been mis-recorded or mis -transcribed.

FindMyPast has a marriage in 1835 for George Gardner Pashbee to Jane Bastion in Falmouth Cornwall,
The date was 17 Sep 1835.
There is also a birth for this man in 1810,he was baptized 11 Feb 1810 son of Sarah and Samuel Pashbee.
This fits the age of the chap buried in NZ

Cheers Janette
